Gary Beam

PADI IDC Staff Instructor

Hello, my name is Gary Beam and I am a PADI IDC Staff Instructor. In my real life I am a business owner that provides high tech technologies to businesses across the United States, but scuba diving is my escape from all of the techies. I have always had a love for the water so scuba was a natural fit for me from a young age. My first dive was at lake travis in Austin TX and have been hooked ever since. My favorite place to dive locally would have to be Clear Springs Scuba Park where we do most of our training. When I am not teaching scuba or “nerding” out with my techies you can find me and my wife somewhere in the caribbean recharging and diving our local spots, currently that would be in San Pedro Belize. When I am teaching, my favorite class to teach is definitely Peak Performance Buoyancy as this skill will set you apart from most divers and give you that awe inspiring feeling of weightlessness while exploring the underwater realm and make you a much more responsible diver, oh and it can increase your bottom time. So if I am your instructor for any classes, know that my passion for scuba diving will make your experience well worth it and I look forward to making you the very best diver that you can be and have a whole lot of fun while doing it.

Darrell Mitchell

Darrell Mitchell is a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, Specialty Instructor, and an Emergency First Response Instructor.  Darrell began diving in St. Lucia in 2013 and fell in love with it.  He has continued to educate himself through advanced open water, rescue, and was working on specialties to become a master scuba diver when Kevin Williams encouraged him to go the Dive Master route.  He began that training with High Tide in the early summer of 2016 and then completed OWSI in October of 2016. He is very excited to help educate and train people to safely dive and enjoy the underwater world.  Darrell likes adventure and the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, shooting sports, mountain climbing, and of course Scuba Diving.  His favorite place to dive is pretty much anywhere in the big blue ocean.  Darrell is currently a manufacturing executive running operations and an engineer by education.  He is also a retired Major from the Army National Guard; Engineers – ESSAYONS!!
