Hello, my name is Gary Beam and I am a PADI Elite Staff Instructor as well as an SSI Master Instructor who enjoys sharing my passion for the underwater realm with not only certified divers but with anyone who is interested to see what’s below the surface.

I am originally from Texas but now reside and work (play) in the beautiful US Virgin Islands after realizing the typical 9-5 lifestyle just wasn’t for me any longer. So I sold everything, packed up my SCUBA gear, and now spend my days either on a boat or the beach meeting and certifying hundreds of SCUBA divers throughout the year. I have logged thousands of dives in the ocean and freshwater environments and seen many great things that have created memories of a lifetime, continuously learning from new and seasoned divers, and sharing that experience with everyone.

So if I am your instructor for any courses, know that my experience and passion for scuba diving will make your experience well worth it and I look forward to making you the very best diver that you can be and have a whole lot of fun while doing it. If you ever go on vacation and visit the Virgin Islands or wanting training while I am stateside just ask for GB for an incredible experience.

Marc Capots is a certified PADI Master Scuba Diver and an Emergency First Response Instructor. He is also credited with 15 specialty instructor certifications that include boat diving, drift diving, night diving, enriched air (nitrox), peak performance buoyancy, wreck diving, side mount, dry suit, and Care for Children w/AED Instructor just to name a few. Marc Capots started his diving experiences in 2012 and has logged over 800 dives including Cozumel, Flower Gardens, Honduras, Florida Keys, Florida Atlantic Coast, Bonaire, Vancouver Canada, and many other Caribbean locations and inland lakes in Texas. His other diving passions also include side mount technical diving and working with High Tide Scuba on yearly Project Aware programs finding local lake and marine clean up opportunities. Marc’s scuba teaching philosophy is to make every student excited and enthusiastic about scuba diving while understanding how to take care of our fragile underwater eco-system as students continue to gain more experiences and certifications beyond open water.

I started diving in 2014 with a discover scuba dive in Cozumel while on a cruise and I was immediately hooked. After I got home I began searching all over DFW but no one made me feel comfortable until I found High tide. I felt like they were there to make my dreams come true not just push through another student. I dove (pun intended) into my certifications. I completed my Open water, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Enriched Air Diver, Advanced Open Water, and Rescue Diver certifications all within a year. I knew this was something I really wanted to do professionally and with Kevin as my instructor I had more confidence than ever. However, I felt I really needed more experience before making the move to become an instructor so I spent the next 4 years working as a dive master candidate and diving abroad. In early 2019 I finished my dive master certification and immediately started studying for my PADI IDC. By winter time I had tackled the course and was awarded the title of PADI Open Water Instructor. I genuinely love teaching and working as a professional through High tide has been a dream of mine since 2014. I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to work beside my mentor, and great friend, Kevin. My favorite place to dive is the US Virgin Islands or Cozumel.

Derek Lee-Wo is a SSI Assistant Instructor and a PADI Divemaster.  He has always dreamt of learning to scuba dive and eventually embarked on that dream after taking a Discover Scuba class while on vacation in Cancun.  After becoming Open Water certified, he was hooked and quickly moved on to more and more advanced certifications including Deep Diver, TEC40, and TEC Sidemount.  He then moved into the Pro certifications becoming a PADI Divemaster and then a SSI Assistant Instructor.  He has managed to convince his entire family to become certified divers so they can dive as a family when on vacation. Derek's favorite dive so far has been the Great Barrier Reef with his family. When Derek isn't scuba diving, he's either triathlon training or working as a Software Engineering Executive.

Hey there, I am a PADI Elite Master Scuba Diver Trainer, EFR Trainer and can teach several specialties. I am also a Nurse. I have 3 beautiful daughters and a handsome new grandson.

After raising my girls to young adult age, I finally pursued my dream to become a diver. It was the most perfect decision that I’ve ever made. I got my certification through High Tide Scuba in 2016 and have continued training and furthering my skills. HTS has been my dive family ever since!! I love, love, love  to teach scuba and dive anywhere I am able to travel and camp.

I don’t know that I can pick my favorite course to teach as I genuinely enjoy each and every one of them.  Blue water diving is obviously my number one preference, but The Scuba Ranch, in Terrel,l is my local favorite! I am very friendly and love to laugh. I’m also very patient and encouraging. I am so passionate about Scuba that I would love to meet you, talk about Scuba, and teach you any course you have been interested in taking.

Chad Redwine is a SSI and Padi Open Water Instructor, Speciality Instructor, and an Emergency First Response Instructor.  While on dry land, Chad teaches Environmental Science, Marine Biology, and is the Head Tennis Coach at Legacy High School.  While living in Midland Texas, Chad and his wife, Shawna wanted to try something different.  If you have ever lived in West Texas, Scuba Diving seemed to be about as different as possible.  He received his Open Water Certification in 2003 and immediately knew he wanted to spend his free time underwater.  He progressed through different classes and decided to become a Dive Master so he would feel more comfortable helping his kids learn to dive.  After seeing many open water and advanced students master skills they previously thought impossible and the sense of accomplishment and pride they achieved, he decided to become an Instructor.  Chad’s favorite diving in simply “Blue Water”, because he never knows what he will see or experience.

Darrell Mitchell

Darrell Mitchell is a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, Specialty Instructor, and an Emergency First Response Instructor.  Darrell began diving in St. Lucia in 2013 and fell in love with it.  He has continued to educate himself through advanced open water, rescue, and was working on specialties to become a master scuba diver when Kevin Williams encouraged him to go the Dive Master route.  He began that training with High Tide in the early summer of 2016 and then completed OWSI in October of 2016. He is very excited to help educate and train people to safely dive and enjoy the underwater world.  Darrell likes adventure and the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, shooting sports, mountain climbing, and of course Scuba Diving.  His favorite place to dive is pretty much anywhere in the big blue ocean.  Darrell is currently a manufacturing executive running operations and an engineer by education.  He is also a retired Major from the Army National Guard; Engineers – ESSAYONS!!
