Scuba Courses

Discover Scuba

DIVE TODAY! This is a great way for those with NO EXPERIENCE to try out the wonderful world of scuba diving. Our all-inclusive 3-hour introductory course is the perfect way to give Scuba Diving a try! You can be diving in as little as one hour! It begins by checking in and meeting your instructor. Next you'll get sized up for safe, well maintained and great fitting Scuba equipment. Following your fitting you'll watch a 20 minute video or presentation that covers some easy to understand and informative information about Scuba Diving theory and terminology. Next, you will start your pool session by swimming around using your mask, fins and snorkel for a few minutes. Next your instructor will help you into your equipment and then at your own pace you will get under the water and take your first breaths on SCUBA! Once you have a little practice breathing under water and become comfortable, your instructor will introduce you to three basic safety skills which you will learn and practice. Don't worry, it's easy, you will master them quickly and build your confidence. Once your skills are complete you'll swim around in the pool for a bit and then end the session with a few underwater games. This is an exciting way to get introduced to Scuba diving without committing to the full Open Water course. Classes are conducted monthly, so check our calendar for dates and times. Call to make a reservation as class size is limited. The minimum age is 10, and a parent must accompany any child under the age of 18.

Open Water Scuba Diver

This is our entry-level Scuba certification. It qualifies divers to make dives up to 60 feet. The traditional group version of the course done at our location, takes one week, and includes classroom sessions, pool sessions and four open-water dives. Upon completion, you will be certified to dive anywhere in the world. We also conduct private, semi-private, and family classes on a flexible schedule. Call for details. Our Open Water certification course is divided into three parts. Prior to the first meeting of class, you will pick up a textbook to read and answer a few simple questions. This must be completed prior to the first classroom session.

Advanced Open Water Diver

The other three may include night, wreck, drift, driver propulsion vehicle, fish identification, and underwater photographer among others. Your class sessions can be custom designed to meet the needs of your schedule, but in most cases it is set up like this:

The PADI Rescue Diver course is designed to give you the skills, knowledge, and confidence to respond to a diving emergency. You'll learn the techniques for underwater rescue, rescue at the surface, and accident management. Please note, a current qualification in Emergency First Response (CPR and First Aid) is required to start this course. We can provide this CPR and First aid training in one afternoon and at a dramatically reduced rate when booked with your PADI Rescue Diver Course. The PADI Rescue Course will start with a little bit of theory and a self-rescue skills review. Training support materials that include the Rescue Diver DVD and Rescue Diver student manual are included in the course. The PADI Rescue Diver manual contains five chapters and each contains a knowledge review- just like your PADI Open Water Diver and PADI Advanced Diver courses. After that, we go on to practice ten different rescue skills in confined water and on land. These ten rescue diving skills are the foundation responding properly when faced with a rescue diving situation. The course culminates with two separate rescue diving scenarios in open water in order to complete the PADI Rescue Diver Course. Prerequisites: Advanced Open Water Diver, Emergency First Responder (EFR)
